Frequently asked questions.

  • A: When needed, we will be working with students and families to create individual learning plans to either assist or advance their education path.

  • A: Students will be required to bring lunch each day. We are currently consulting with local restaurants about setting up additional lunch options.

  • A: We are planning to incorporate special clubs and extra activities into our program, such as sports, chess, theater, music, etc.

  • A: Starting off, we will only be accepting middle school aged children, but have plans to continue on to high school in the next few years.

  • A: We will have a dress code policy, but that will not include a uniform. We are also looking forward to creating a spirit wear line for our families.

  • A: We plan to keep our classrooms smaller, with a ratio of about 16 students to 1 teacher.

  • A: We do have an onsite after school care program, The Kids’ Clubhouse, that runs through 8th grade and will be available to our academy students.

  • A: The students will have recess each day as well as a 30 minute activity break to have some structured physical activity, such as yoga, gym activities, dance, etc.

  • A: We are required to perform at least one standardized test each year, but we will not be using standardized testing on a regular basis. Instead, students will be graded on daily assignments, projects, and tests.

  • A: We will be using an app such as Class Dojo to communicate with all families. Parents can also expect regular newsletters and information ahead of time. Parents will also have the ability to track their student’s progress.

  • A: As we get closer to offering high school, we will definitely be looking into higher credits for students who are ready for that responsibility.

  • A: We will be assessing each student individually in order to see their growth. We plan to have the opportunities to work in small groups, customize workloads, and challenge those that might be ready for advanced learning.

  • A: We are planning to look into community partners who could provide extra assistance in these areas on site.

  • A: We plan to incorporate guidance lessons about these topics with the hope of teaching life lessons and mentoring students as they navigate their middle school years.

  • A: We plan to have very limited homework. We not only believe that home time should be family time, but we also believe that students will have better success working alongside their teachers on their assignments. They will have open sessions to collaborate with staff and fellow students.
